Sharon Braun, a fourth grade teacher at Stephen Foster Elementary School, died in a tragic crash that also caused critical injuries to Gail Carter, a physical education teacher. Sharon Braun had a positive influence on her students and the entire school and community will be morning her loss. When a teacher or mentor dies, parents often question if the child should attend the funeral. Child experts have different views on how best to deal with the mourning process for a child. Some encourage children to attend the funeral. Others do not. This is a personal choice for parents to make with input by the child depending on the age of the child.
Sharon Braun taught at the school for over 30 years. She undoubtedly touched the lives of many students and families throughout her career.
