Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Offers Safe Teen Driving Class

As a Florida parent and a a Florida Lawyer , I recognize that there are hazards on the road . . . one of the hazards is teen driving. Hopefully, a class offered by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office will help reduce Jacksonville and Florida automobile accidents.

Young Florida drivers do not have much experience and some lack the maturity to make good decisions on the road. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Florida Sheriff’s Association to present a driving course called “Teen Driver Challenge”. Jacksonville Students spend 4 hours in a classroom and 8 hours on a police training course.

Licensed Florida teen drivers ages 16-19 can participate in the class. The first course will be held on March 7 and 8 at the Northeast Florida Criminal Justice Training and Education Center. There is a $50 deposit due at the time of registration. (The deposit is refundable once the course is completed.)
