Florida is known for its beaches and tourism. Unfortunately, the State of Florida and cities like Daytona Beach are often known (at times) for beach accidents involving vehicles and pedestrians / sunbathers. Many beaches in the State of Florida allow beach driving and beach parking. While the convenience of beach parking and beach driving is a draw for many, it also brings with it risks and dangers to children and adults who walk, play, and sunbathe on the beach. A recent incident was reported in Volusia County. It was reported by the Daytona News Journal that a 16 year old girl was hit by a truck while she was sunbathing. While no serious injuries were reported, the girl was taken to Bert Fish Hospital for evaluation and follow-up. Like other cases involving injuries to a pedestrian, a claim or case for compensation can be pursued if it can be proved that the driver was wholly or even partially at fault for the accident. As mentioned, beach driving can be quite convenient but with this convenience comes the responsibility to drive at a safe speed and to be on the lookout for pedestrian, sunbathers, and especially children who are in the area.

Some argue that beach driving and parking should be banned due to the risks and dangers of beach driving. Others may argue that beach driving is no more dangerous than driving in any neighborhood with pedestrians, bicyclists, and children at play.

When a child is injured as a result of the negligence of others, it is often helpful to retain the services of a Florida Child Injury Lawyer for advice, consultation, and legal representation. Whether the injuries take place on a beach, roadway, or parking lot, the parents should seek the advice of an attorney to determine the respective legal rights of the injured child. The book titled – The ABCs of Child Injury – Legal Rights of the Injured Child – What Every Parent Should Know – has chapters on Automobile Accidents, Playground Injuries, Day Care Center Injuries, Water Park Injuries, Amusement Park and Theme Park Injuries, and other topics.
