Orange City, Florida and its residents have a concern about child safety. In particular, residents, school officials, and parents are concerned about the safety of children as they walk or ride their bicycles to and from school. Unfortunately, in Orange City, Florida, there are danger zones for children travelling to and from school. This is especially problematic in areas where there is a lack of sidewalks. Orange County Officials have met to discuss this issues. Hopefully, action will be taken to make it safer for children. Drivers in Orange City and elsewhere should do their best to drive safe in and near school zones as well as other areas where children are present as pedestrians and bicyclists. By slowing down and limiting driver distractions, many unfortunate and tragic automobile accidents, bicycle accidents, and pedestrian accidents can be avoided.
