In Jacksonville, Florida and other communities, children unfortunately are injured at or near school bus stops. A recent accident took place in Jacksonville Florida on Moose Road and New Berlin Road. At the time of the incident, there were approximately 10 children waiting at the bus stop. While waiting, a car drove into the path of the children. It was reported that one child was pinned under a car. The child was bleeding and conscious when he was transported to Shands Jacksonville Hospital for emergency medical treatment and evaluation. Drivers should slow down and drive with caution and full attention when near bus stops, crosswalks, and school zones. It is amazing that drivers continue to ignore the clear warning signs clearly presented by big yellow school buses and flashing lights.
