In Florida and other States, there is a tradition for families that has been around much longer than the modern conveniences of the computer, cable television, and other forms of entertainment – the bedtime story. Many parents understand the importance of this tradition and teaching tool. As such, these parents take time to read to their children. Unfortunately, some parents do not make the time or are not around at bedtime to the daily demands of work and other obligations. You can read a brief survey that was reported in the Orlando Sentinel at Parents Too Busy to Read Bedtime Stories. If you are a parent or caregiver and some how can find the time to read to a child, do it. Children still love books. More importantly, it is a good time to bond with your child and to talk to them about the book or their day.
