In South Florida, a 7 year old girl suffered serious personal injuries when an Iguana bit her foot. Just prior to the Iguana attack, the girl was feeding the Iguana strawberries. Iguanas are not known for attacking humans / children according to Wildlife officials; however, Iguana like dogs are animals. As such, the actions of an Iguana cannot be predicted with certainty. It is possible that the Iguana thought that the foot of the girl (Madison Wells) was a food item. The injuries required 23 stitches and caused some damage to Madison’s tendons.
