In Jacksonville, Florida, young children in a day care center at Victoria’s Childcare on Victoria Street were at risk according to law enforcement officials. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Drug Abatement Response Team, otherwise known as DART, shut down the day care facility. DART is the team that is used to investigate and shut down areas where there is drug activity. According to the Florid Department of Children and Families (DCF), “child safety” is a priority especially when children are at risk due to drug / criminal activity. Apparently, the facility had repeated problems with deficiencies as to compliance with day care regulations and staff ratios.
