Florida Statute Requires Helmet for Children Under Age of 16 (All Terrain Vehicles – ATVs)

Section 316.2074, Florida Statutes – All Terrain Vehicles – ATV requires that all persons under the age of 16 years old shall ride or operate an ATV without an approved helmet.

This statute is in place for the protection of children. Even if the statute did not exist, it is important for parents and caregivers to protect children while occupying an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle), bicycle, or motorcycle.
